Hey y’all! Welcome to the Command and Data Handling Team!

We mainly deal with the OBC hardware, how it interfaces with other subsystems and budgets for data and compute. Our goal is to make sure that our OBC is perfect for what the flight software team needs to run, has enough storage to store health, logs, payload data, fast enough and compatible interfaces/protocols for other subsytems and other little things that we need for everyday functioning of our satellite.

We have selected the Xiphos Q7 (for a detailed trade study of why we selected this check out the trade study). This is an System on Module card, which means that it has all of the interfaces exposed on a highly dense connector on the bottom of the card. This can then be mounted on a carrier board which routes the interfaces to anything needed for the application. In our use case, it would be connectors for other subsystems and more storage.
